“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go and do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
– John Eldredge

Obi Abuchi is the founding Director of Motivatem and Author of the forthcoming book:
"The Magic of Monday: A Different Perspective on Building a Successful and Fulfilling Career".
After gaining a Bachelors & Masters degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering with Management, Obi joined, as a management trainee, a very large Public Finance Initiative (PFI) engineering and construction organisation with responsibility for a multi-billion pound schedule of improvement and maintenance of the London Underground.
During this time he gained experience in business change projects before joining a London-based business and change management consultancy. His consulting work included creating and delivering risk management programmes, customer relationship management frameworks, and leadership & management development programmes in private and public sector organisations.
Now, in addition to Consulting in areas of Organisational Development, Leadership & Management Development, and Talent Development, he channels his combined experience and qualifications in NLP, Coaching, Public Speaking and Training to facilitate peak performance and excellence in individuals.

Obi is also a
dynamic and motivational speaker and has been a Guest Speaker at International Conferences in London and Washington DC, speaking to groups of over 750 people on topics such as “The importance of empowering young people”, “Achievement” and “Single-mindedness towards achieving our goals”.
His passion for making a difference has also seen him get involved in local and international community-based charity projects. In the late nineties, as part of a team of four, Obi shined his way into the Guinness Book of Records by shining (along with his team mates) over 14,000 shoes in eight hours. At the same time this event raised money for a HOPE Worldwide project in India to build a leprosy colony.
In recent years, Obi has worked with orphans in Kingston, Jamaica and inner-city kids in Philadelphia and Washington DC, USA. In 2001, He led a team of 4 Interns to Jamaica, overseeing and co-ordinating a group of 70 students on the HOPE Worldwide Youth Corps – An International Charity/Volunteer & Leadership Development Programme.

In March 2006, he led a team of 5 to Costa Rica for a Charity Challenge involving Mountain-biking, hiking, kayaking and sea rafting. By racing against other teams to cross the country of Costa Rica (Central America), one of the most ecologically and climatically diverse terrains in the world, his team raised over £17,000 for The Prince’s Trust, a prominent UK Youth Charity.
He also enjoys squash, fitness training, and singing (he performed in the Gilbert & Sullivan musical "Ruddigore" whilst studying at King's College London and is involved with the Music Group in his church in East London).
Obi and his wife live with their three sons in Essex, UK.
